Currently attending Drexel University in Philadelphia, my interests are focused toward my major, Software Engineering. Tutoring students for two years in high school I was a member of the National Honors Society and received a four-year perfect attendance award. Since I graduated in the top ten of my high school class of nearly 300 students, my teachers awarded me as the senior class representative to Channel 6 ABC's annual "Best of the Class" program. This is a show which highlights esteemed high school seniors graduating from the Delaware Valley high schools each year.

Aside from academics, I enjoy playing tennis, table tennis, baseball, solving computer problems, and spending time with friends. My high school, Father Judge, had the number one chess team in the Catholic League of Philadelphia. I had the distinction of playing for the team. Additionally, I relished a stellar varsity tennis career in high school, as the number two singles player, co-captain, and assistant coach.

My first professional work in the computer field was at Drexel's College of Arts and Sciences (CoAS) in November 2005. I created and deployed improved web designs, released a much-needed calendar system for managing the events of the CoAS, and kept the department's websites up-to-date while working part-time.

Motivated to advance my career in the Software Engineering field, I started working for the Geometric and Intelligent Computing Laboratory (GICL) at Drexel in January 2006. Working part-time during classes and then full-time during my first co-op, I designed and implemented the Digital Archiving and Retrieval Tool (DART) with a team. This open-source system allows projects to be managed and archives every file version submitted to the system in redundant, distributed storage resources.

Determined to further advance my career, I applied to Amazon.com and was offered a co-op at Amazon's Seattle headquarters. I accepted and worked for Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) team during my second co-op from March to September 2008. Amazon EC2 is a web service which allows customers to rent Amazon's back-end computers and run their own operating systems and software. I took the primary role in designing and implementing a tool which allows abuse reporters to report the misuse of Amazon's computers by EC2 customers.

After this co-op, I worked part-time for GICL, creating a registry for engineering file formats. This registry uses the Semantic MediaWiki software to allow the formats and other relevant information to be annotated, so it can export OWL markup.

Interested in working at a variety of companies for my co-ops, I worked at Microsoft on the Live Labs team for my next co-op. I helped with the creation of Microsoft Pivot, an application which allows users to explore large collections of items. Specifically, I implemented server-side programs that generate major league sports collections for Pivot and automatically create recommendations of collections based on the content of a web page that a user is currently viewing in Pivot.

I am presently working at GICL in Philadelphia. After graduation, I will work at Microsoft in Redmond on the Online Commerce Platform team, which performs billing and subscription management for Microsoft Online Services and Windows Azure.
